Generation FREE

Energy around A Day in the Life inspired the launch of Generation FREE, an arts-based youth anti- trafficking activism community and movement. With mentorship from The Arts Effect and other supporting organizations, such as Sanctuary for Families, NY New Abolitionists, and Equality NOW, participants become leaders and change agents bringing awareness-raising projects to their schools. Middle and high school students engaged in advocacy trainings focused on the basics of commercial sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and the importance of bystander intervention. Participants also had a unique opportunity to meet with lawmakers to lobby for the passing of the Trafficking Victims Protection and Justice Act (TVPJA).

Over 1000 students in NY & NJ have participated in Generation FREE programming.
