All-Girl Theater Company

Elite 14-20 year-old actors/creators worked together as a theater company: strengthening technique while also developing original scripts to be produced professionally in NYC and across the country. Students were involved in all aspects of theater creation, production, and performance.

All-Girl Jr. Theater Company

11-14 year-old students explored theater essentials including improvisation, relaxation, sense memory, scene and character study, and exciting theater games! For end of semester presentations, students prepared scripted pieces and created original works - such as THOT on the Playground. These bright, engaging, courageous young actors/writers were dedicated to exploring the realities of their generation and raising consciousness through the theater arts.

Players I & II

Player I students (age 13-17) and Player II students (age 9-12) focused on the advancement of their acting technique and skill set. Through the exploration of sensory work, improvisation, character/scene study, text analysis, and more, participants learned to achieve rich, natural, and honest acting perfect for stage or film. Each semester ended with a final presentation of scenes and monologues for family and friends

Arts Effect Jr.

Our Jr. classes were ideal for our youngest students ages 5-8 years old. Participants were introduced to theater games, movement exercises, character and scene development, playwriting, and more. Students also learned how to create stories for the stage as they shared their voices and “scripted” original ensemble pieces.

Summer Camp

Every summer, The Arts Effect offered numerous one-week long summer camp classes for enthusiastic young artists and performers ages 8–18 interested in exploring the exciting world of acting and theater.

Through a combination of sensory work, improvisation, and character/scene study, our program focused on the advancement of the actor’s skill set and audition technique! At the start of each week, students were assigned scenes and/or monologues to prepare and then present at the end of each workshop for friends and family. Students also had the opportunity to work with and prepare authentic film/TV/commercial audition sides.

Big THANK YOU to all the Teaching Artists who worked with us throughout the years!
