Make Equality Reality Event

On November 3, 2014, The Arts Effect was honored to travel to Los Angeles, California to participate in Equality Now’s Make Equality Reality event. Three members of The Arts Effect All-Girl Theater Company (Vikki Eugenis, Odley Jean, and Darci Siegel ) performed excerpts from A Day in the Life. The event was hosted by Kathy Griffin and featured other speakers such as Quincy Jones, Salma Hayek, Daphne Zuniga, Gloria Steinem, Congresswoman Maxine Waters and a musical performance by Raining Jane.

Check out some videos and pictures below from this powerful evening and learn more about the incredible work Equality Now does every day. Equality Now believes in creating a just world where women and girls have the same rights as men and boys. They tackle the most difficult issues, challenge ingrained cultural assumptions and call out inequality wherever they see it. Social change often begins with legal change and so they use the power of the law to create enduring equality for women and girls everywhere.
